Rehab Facility Perspective

Recovery Kentucky Rehabilitation Facility

PROJECT SUMMARY

Recovery Kentucky was created to help Kentuckians recover from substance abuse, which often leads to chronic homelessness. There are 14 Recovery Kentucky centers across the Commonwealth. This new facility is located in Calloway County and provides housing and recovery services for up to 300 women from the surrounding region. This center will help its occupants recover from addiction and help them gain control of their lives to eventually reside in permanent housing. As supportive housing projects, each center uses a recovery program model that includes peer support, daily living skills classes, job responsibilities, and establishes new behaviors. The design for the facility was developed with specific attention to the safety and peace-of-mind for the occupants. Each building benefits from natural daylight and views to the outdoor courtyards and community spaces. The architecture and adjacent outdoor rooms will help to facilitate a sense of unity and work together with the professional counseling services to enable progress on an individual level.
