First Baptist Church Family Center
PROJECT SUMMARY
This new facility for First Baptist Church of Murray will contribute to the ongoing efforts of the church to contribute to and bless the community of Murray and assist in the outreach efforts to the world. The new Family Life Center will particularly assist the efforts of the youth and college ministries of the church. Included in the facility are multi-functional worship areas and a welcome center with supporting classrooms. The church will also benefit from a quality gymnasium for sporting activities that doubles as a banquet center for weddings and other special events.
Particular effort was made to contribute to the beauty of the existing church and the surrounding historic context. The material selection and proportions of the building are designed to create a natural flow through the church’s campus and give a comfortable greenspace buffer from the traffic. The large window openings enhance the beauty of the interior spaces with soft natural daylight, and the large roof overhangs contribute to the passive energy saving techniques of the design.

PROJECT SUMMARY
New Zion Missionary Baptist Church is a small country church located amidst beautiful rolling hills and farm fields. Their new church was developed with an efficient and welcoming layout that creates a unique and lasting building that will contribute to the area and their ministries.
The site opens to beautiful southern views. This made it possible to locate most of the Sunday School classrooms along a southern facing axis and provide plenty of controlled daylight for the spaces. The Sanctuary is flooded with natural light from the spacious windows that frame the arrival view for members and visitors.
